The Pump Room

This is the Pump Room in Pittville Park, Cheltenham. It's where those seeking health, and wealth, took the waters in Regency England before promenading through the gardens. It was closed to the public today as a rather grand Indian wedding reception was to be held there. Not that one can take the waters any more. I was told the pipework had deteriorated so badly that the waters are contaminated. Apparently they weren't particularly appetising anyway as they tasted very sulphurous. The extras are of the interior of the Pump Room, very tastefully decorated for the wedding reception soon to take place, and the view of the park from the front steps. Two excellent sessions so far today at the Jazz Festival - Betty LaVette with Gregory Porter guesting, and Dee Dee Bridgewater. Now looking forward to Robert Plant who I first saw in 1970 at the Bath Blues  & Progressive Rock Music Festival when Led Zeppelin were in their pomp.
