While on my runs

Hauturu beyond Tawharanui

Packed up and returned to Snells Beach this afternoon. Late in the day I walked up to Highfield and then on paths down towards Algies Bay and then past the donkeys (they were in the paddock for the first time in a long time when I have been passing there.

From almost the highest point of Highfield I had an excellent view of Te Hauturu-o-Toi, named Little Barrier Island as it and the larger Great Barrier Island protect the Hauraki Gulf and Waitemata Harbour from the full force of the southern Pacific Ocean.
