Salix seed launch day

A dry sunny day was needed & that's just what we got. Seeds floating through the air, around the heath & back in mum's garden, which has a bank of willow growing on the other side of her hedge. Willow seedlings will be popping up everywhere which will be another job to add to the list. The upside of this is that the birds, Blue tits in particular, feed the tiny caterpillars, that are also on the willow, to their young.
What else happened on Saturday??
Ah yes! I sowed seed up on the plot. Beetroot Golden Eye, radish, 2 varieties of carrot, & chipples (Spring onions). Annual flower seed went in around the fruit trees, & I did a spot of hoeing.
Mum & I completed the circular jigsaw puzzle. Yay!!
I was entertained by the sparrows resident in the area dining on the aphids inhabiting the Aquilegia in the garden at home. Semi- aerial acrobatics. Fortunately no damage done to the plants.
