We escaped the showers!

It was a wet morning and a weather forecast had been issued for thunderstorms, heavy rain and localised flooding. This did not stop us to head north a bit in the hope to get a nice walk. And, we did! We escaped all the showers and black clouds, though saw them south of us, while on our walk.
It was fantastic up in the hills above Durisdeer. A great looped walked though grassland, across burns, past the Roman fortlet and plenty of sheep. At the end we had a look at the Queensberry Marbles in the mausoleum adjacent to Druisdeer Parish Church, where some of the ancestors of the Duke of Queensberry.
On our way home we were hit by torrential rain, but that was ok.
What a lovely end to a great Bank Holiday weekend.
Extra - a collage of our walk today.
