Hay Fever

Spring in Italy is wonderful, but there is a downside: hayfever. It is prime pollen time for the plentiful cottonwood trees and today we walked through a blizzard of their floating fluffy seed “snow balls”. The grasses were really high and the trees and bushes were getting rather overgrown. Our walk along the aqueduct was not quiet and serene as we hoped. The landscape crew was out in force…whacking weeds, pruning bushes, and a huge tractor was mowing and raking. Very, very noisy. And oh, my itchy eyes & nose, sneezing and sneezing and sneezing! My new flowery hanky got a lot of use. The featured foto: fallen cottonwood seed fluff. Too bad I can’t upload the video of the “blizzard”.
