Stories From Suburban Road

Elizabeth's school play was tonight. I am always amazed at what a professional job they do. It doesn't need a captive audience. She also played the double bass. (Extra).

It has been a full day. Earlier we attended a feral pig workshop in the valley which was interesting and enlightening.
The second extra shows a very experienced farmer from the north of the state who contends with far more pigs than we do. Here he is demonstrating a tracking collar which they apply to some pigs to study their behaviour. On occasion they "hot collar" them whilst holding them down but after coming off second best one time he now usually does it after tranquillising them! Of course they have to be trapped first.
After the pig serves its purpose and is shot they are very keen to retrieve the collar which costs $5,000 for future use.
