A day in the life

Just came home from a wonderful concert, a newly composed piece of music about tales and facts about the 200 years of oppression on my island, Öland (1569-1801), when the whole island, by a royal signature was made into a hunting park for the royals, creating vast suffering for the inhabitants who no longer was allowed to hunt or take firewood from the forests while the kings deers and other game freely and unhindered could eat and waste the farmers crops. Dogs were only allowed if the owner chopped one of its legs off so it no longer could chase the wildlife. Those were the days when the people were subjects instead of sitizens.

A composer, now living on Öland has spent two years composing music capturing this period of history, putting it into music by the help of eleven professional singers and musicians; percussion, base-clarinet and theorbo (a lute with extra long base-strings). Stunning performance.

As an extra I have to put a third foto of the trellis I've constructed, just to show the process going on. My brain comes up with an idea that then is developed during the process. The trellis now got a stabilising frame that also could be used to hang things from. This might be the final adjustment.
