Sunny Garden Subjects

I could hear the bloo tits calling this morning and thought their chicks might fledge today. Instead of flying straight in, the hard-working female was perching outside the old loo overflow hole and dangling the caterpillars, as if she was trying to lure the nestlings out. Maybe they'll leave tomorrow.

Lots of lovely bugs on my uncut lawn. I've included a rose chafer. (The first dog rose blooms opened today.) The wasp beetle was on some brambles in the hedge. The star of Bethlehem has sprouted just outside the garden gate. I have photographed one in the past on the bank of our neighbour's lake but never seen one on our property before. These are not native to the UK but have become naturalised.
