Day at the Beach

There were crowds everywhere, yet plenty of room to stroll on the beach in peace. We took off early for a one-nighter at my brother-in-law's rented studio apartment. He is the best host. Although you have to watch yourself or you'll be constantly eating; the boy loves to cook. It's as though he cooks when others would doodle. He rents from the most generous hosts who always invite his guests to sleep in their house. Gery's studio is above the garage. His partner, Silvia, was gone for a few days, well, it's always a guess as to where they are: Cannon Beach studio, Tualatin house (where he and my sis Becky lived for 30 years), or Silvia's place in Talent, Oregon, where she keeps her painting life busy with teaching.
