Sunday gardening

After yesterday's success with the pulmonaria, today it was the turn of the crocosmia. This proved a lot more difficult: they are big, robust plants which have propagated across a significant area, and stones and corms repeatedly impeded my efforts with the fork. However, persistence eventually paid off, with buckets and tubs now full. The next, much bigger task will be to clear the plants they are to move into, but that is for next week. For now, I hope they will survive in their tubs of water.

As I put away the tools and brought in the laundry, I realised I had not taken any photos. The shrub was the nearest subject, the fly an unintended bonus.
