Tuesday: Concrete Jungle

The weather was absolutely glorious today. In the morning, we went to ‘Top Of The Rock’, the observation deck at the top of the Rockefeller Centre.  We marvelled at the fact that all of these boxes seen below contain hundreds of people, all with inner thoughts, memories, experiences, in turn contained within them.

It blew our minds a bit so we went to Central Park to get back some perspective. Our perspective was helped by eating ice cream and listening to jazz while sitting on benches.

J then left us for the afternoon and went to meet up with his friend, Gabe, who had flown down from Boston to meet J and go to a baseball game together.  S, K and I were ladies who lunched and had a fantastic dining experience on the patio at ‘Tavern On The Green’, complete with oysters and crisp white wine.  We walked off lunch by heading up into the Upper West Side where S wanted to buy yarn from a particular shop.

Later in the afternoon, we met up with J and Gabe, before he had to catch his train back to Boston.  We then continued with our evening which included a New York Knicks fan buying us a round of drinks because he was charmed by J’s sports enthusiasm.

We’re also getting to be hot shots on the subway.

As usual, a few extras.
