Hexham Abbey

Drove up to Beal at the end of the Holy Island causeway to park my car then catch bus and trains to Hexham to begin walking St. Oswald’s Way tomorrow. Unfortunately, we arrived just after the Abbey had closed so were unable to visit it. Hexham was lovely and merits a return visit. Had a nice local ale in a local pub before finding a little Mexican restaurant where we enjoyed a Margarita (me) and Mojito (my sister) and some excellent food. Lovely start to our pilgrimage walk.
