Tarragon flowers

Autumn, and the tarragon is flowering. Tarragon is a member of the Asteracea family, that is, it is in with the daisies. Like daisies, what we think of as petals are really sepals, while the flowers are contained in the centre as a composite head. Note the tiny flowers within the bigger 'flower'.

The main thing about tarragon is the way it graces our chicken meals. It's the perfect companion herb.

Thanks for hosting BikerBear. Happy weekend!
