Life through the lens...

Bowling Green Marsh.

On our we home.
Another glorious day. 23C
We had our usual stop in Topsham. A favourite place of ours.
A walk along the “ Goat Walk” to the RSPB Bowling Green Hide.
Not a good time of year for the wading birds etc. but it was nice to see the swans with their little cygnets. Mother duck with her large brood of ducklings. A grey heron, and a black swan.
The black swan was a real nasty bully. The swans had difficulty keeping it away from the young ones.
The weather was glorious. The lane full of wildflowers especially the frothy white cow parsley.
Spent sometime sat enjoying watching the comings and goings on the Exe estuary.
Two ferries left. One for Exmouth and one which goes across to a pub on the Exeter canal.
Something maybe to do another day.

The extra is one of the many beautiful houses in Topsham which have been influenced by the architecture Holland. They were built in the 17th century by the cloth merchants who traded in the woollen serge cloth made in Exeter.
This house was also the birth place of Sir William Webb Follett. 1796- 1845.
He was MP for Exeter and
 Attorney General in 1844.

Now staying in Chippenham overnight and then home tomorrow.

Hope the weather stays good for tomorrow.
