Sugar cane.

Took this on the way back from Townsville today. This is sugar cane country. There is a fine black soot that settles over Ayr, from the cane fires. Bits of burnt leaves float down out of the sky and lands on everything. Even the soles of our feet in our sandals are black! Down by Hydeaway Bay, the sugar cane was in full flower, with big fluffy heads. Best that I have ever seen, I tried getting a photo of it down there, but nothing did it justice.

We left here at 6.30am to get to our appointment at 8.30am. We were advised to allow a bit of extra time due to all the road works on the way. Anyway, we got there just after 8.00am so were first on the list. Didn't get out until just after 11.00am. They are happy with the progress, but it needs re-doing again on Friday. So after talking to our friend at Rubyvale, we are heading off to there, and will take 2 days to drive there. We won't be getting away from here until about midday, as getting oil change etc done on Toyota, then have to pick up our camper trailer.
PJ will get the dressing re-done at the Emerald hospital on Friday afternoon.
