WOOD

What glorious weather we are having and there is nothing better than being able to go down and sit on the beach in the sunshine - well plastered with Factor 50, of course.

It is also good to be able to sit in a beach hut in the shade when the sun gets too hot, and believe me, it is very hot out there today, although there is a whisper of a breeze occasionally.

Thought those friends in the Channel Islands might like to see the beach huts as I understand there are none there - so here they are, in all their glory. They are made of WOOD one of the words in the HeartFreek July Photo Challenge - and you will see that some are well kept and some are quite tatty, but of course, in time they will all be affected by the sea air, the sun and the winds and weather and that can be quite severe in the winter months.

I am reminded of the quote, attributed to Napoleon Bonaparte, which says:

A throne is only a bench covered with velvet.

The truth is that these are only sheds covered with paint, but they do brighten up the prom and make a good shelter in times of need.
