One Out of Three

We had big plans for this morning.

Number 1: We got up early and went down to Blackford to get a shot of the Union of South Africa steam train which was due to pass about 7.20. We set up on one of the hills behind the village with a fine view down the main-line. As the train approached round the bend I was so disappointed to see it being pulled by a boring old diesel loco instead. So no picture there then.

I'm not a train-spotter by trade but I thought it would make a good shot. I also found out this evening that my dad actually worked on the UofSA when it was in for maintenance at the Caley works in Springburn where he worked for over 40 years, and has even driven it.

Number 2: After a pleasant breakfast we headed back to Perth to get tickets for Billy Connolly, which were going on sale at 9.00. The queue was quite a sight. Wrapping all the way around the concert hall. And it was hardly even moving. As the phone-lines were due to open at 10.00 we left the queue and started phoning from then. No joy. All the tickets were gone by 11. We didn't get any.

Number 3: Farmer's market. Now that was there and we got all of our usual stuff, thankfully.

So one hit out of three.
