More "Zamioculcery"

I'll not Blip the entire plant on account of certain changes ... I moved it form a somewhat gloomy location to nearer a window.
Result was that ...
A) The new growth was much more upright and robust.
B) The older "Spaldery" growth decided it had had its day, went into decline, and went.

I recently spotted this funny wee thing at the base. It in no way, shape or form resembles a new growth of leaf(s) and study of the slightly out of focus stem behind (Sorry, couldn't be harassed with stacking) shows a little "thingy" which, I'm hoping, may become a flower.

How do you spell Weigh HAY?

BTW Any plants(wo)men know if the stalks left when the leaves go can be safely shortened?
