Mad Jocks and Englishmen

In hindsight, watching the golf most of the morning and procrastinating about getting out on the bike to shift some of the post-holiday podge was probably not the best strategy today.

Headed out a bit after the midday sun slathered in sunscreen and crossed over the Forth into Falkirkshire to see how the progress on Andy Scott's big Kelpie sculptures was going. Seemed like even the engineers over there had adopted a bit of an impromptu tropical climes siesta as there wasn't much going on until I was riding off later on. It's looking impressive - and BIG - but there's so much other stuff around it was difficult to find a good angle to photograph them. Still, will pop back at some point when they're looking more like the big horse's heads they're meant to.

Stopped off here at the old BP petrol station near the Kincardine Bridge for an ice lolly. Nobody came out to serve me.

I don't know how those Tour de France chappies do it. Respect.
