The vegetables in the raised beds

The next few days are going to be very busy with preparations for going away to Scotland, as well as family visits, a trip to the 'theatre' at the cinema, and a meeting with cousins from Australia who we haven't seen since the 1950s.

I nipped out into the garden this morning to record the Morning Glory flowers which are thriving on the trellis, but in the end I grabbed this picture of the raised beds to remind me of how the vegetables have grown in just a few days. While we are away they will grow even more and our cat sitters may well have started on the lettuce and courgettes. I love the big yellow courgette flower you can just see under its huge leaves in the area shaded by the big trees at the bottom of the garden.

The raspberries on the bush in the background are also ripening well and being eaten daily. Butterflies and cats were also out and about in the cool of the morning air, before the shimmering heat cooks the garden. I went inside fairly quickly to get on with stuff!
