Wild walnut mandolin

Will be spending a lot of time at folk festivals over the next few weeks, on our stall HOPEFULLY selling handmade stringed instruments. So no chance of time off for us this weekend!

Today Mr M has been working towards finishing off several instruments before we depart for the first festival. And I've been photographing instruments, updating the website, social networking and sorting out some admin stuff. As well as the usual weekend domestic chores. Phew!

Uploaded the blip photo to the website this afternoon. The front of the instrument is made of spruce, and the back and sides are wild walnut, which is highly figured and absolutely beautiful. Maybe a future blip!

Tomorrow will be a day of house cleaning, in preparation for our house/cat/dog sitters...
