Not sure local bye laws permit .... But hey Porty is not known for its bye law compliance. However, at the first whisper of the closure and sell off of its Police Station in the former 19th c Town Hall to a national low price pub chain the spirit of opposition is already at large here.

I witnessed a one person protest at the new Sainsbury's Local yesterday morning. They were pulling promo stickers off the pavement, intended to lure shoppers into the new store, and placing them in the bin. The manager was not happy but knew he should not have infringed this public space and allowed the protester to complete the pavement clean up. I was encouraged to note the store was not very busy. I fear it will not remain so and that the local sole traders will suffer further.
