The Edge of the Wold

Terrier racing at the Bishop Wilton Show. Apologies to mimsdaze that this shot doesn't feature Ruby, the winner of all her heats and the final for the sixth year running. But it does show something of the drama of the race, these little dogs take the racing very seriously, but they do get distracted into having a bit of a scrap with their rivals. The little snapper didn't manage to catch the leader.

It was a bit of a dash over to BW from Arnside this morning, we had to get there in time for Wifie to register her entries for the show. She won a first prize with a mono print, and a second with her blackcurrant jam (made with fruit from our garden). As for Gus, he was entered in a couple of categories in the dog show (not the terrier racing), but in the first category, it became apparent that he does not have the schooling necessary to win a place and he came last after a lot of sniffing and leg cocking in the ring. As I was taking the terrier racing photographs, I saw him come running up the course behind the race, he had slipped his lead and tried to follow them. So maybe next year we should disguise him as a terrier.
