Time to Smell

"People where you live," the little prince said, "grow five thousand roses in one garden... yet they don't find what they're looking for...

They don't find it," I answered.

And yet what they're looking for could be found in a single rose, or a little water..."

Of course," I answered.

And the little prince added, "But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart."

~ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

Roses in Ecuador are bountiful and beautiful. Long-stem roses are one of the major exports for the country and considered among the finest in the world. Tall, vibrant colored roses seem to be blooming in every home along the calles of Cuenca. If you were to stop and smell the roses along the way here - you would always be arriving late to your destination. Oh wait, perhaps that is why punctuality is NOT to be expected here.

Please forgive my lack of blipping... I've been enjoying the beauties of my new home country.
