Hot bird

Another day of extremely oppressive heat, punctuated by heavy downpours of rain. I read later that Nottingham had been the wettest place in the country, so wasn't surprised to see this blip by Emmala, taken a mile or two across the city.

The morning was spent investigating friction and imperfect pulleys and later there was a session on energy. Energy was a quantity singularly lacking on all sides. This lady blackbird was just....flopped on the grass with her beak open. I thought about joining her, but needed to get out of the sun. She must have appreciated the rain later on - I heard them all rustling about in the undergrowth and chirping happily.
