La Ropa Road Construction

The only road between Playa La Ropa and downtown has been hugely affected by the local power company's project for the past month. It seems they are burying the main transmission lines to La Ropa, which means up to two dozen workers a day are on various sections of the two lane road digging trenches, feeding cable, packing earth and cementing holes. This has caused a number of delays heading to and fro, but everything is handled in typical Mexican fashion. Most of the disruptions merely require a driver to look past the obstruction, if the road is clear then proceed, if there is another vehicle, slow down until you figure out who is going first. A couple of the longer stretches, like the one shown here, actually require flaggers to control traffic because a driver cannot see all the way to where the two lane starts again. Normally there is a person in the middle relaying signals to both ends. No accidents yet, so it must be working.
