Thursday 16 July 2009: The Lovell Telescope.....

As I drove back from Manchester tonight I decided to do a 4 mile detour past Joderall Bank to see The Lovell Telescope, just out of interest.

One of my Professors Jocelyn Bell Burnell spoke of it and whetted my interest back in my Open University days, she was the first person to find a Pulsar, when she was a student under Prof. Hewish, who gain a Nobel prize for the discovery but Prof Burnell didn't, (many say because she was a girl) a sore point for many years.

Although I never pursued an interest in Astrology, it has always fascinated me, and today is the 40th Anniversary of the take off of Apollo XI so I thought this apt.
