Japanese Style Garden

We decided to revisit Bryngarw Country Park today and blip the Oriental Garden.
The Oriental Garden was laid by Captain Traherne, the owner of Bryngarw. Trees from China And Japan ( mostly Rhododendrons and Azaleas) along with three linked ponds make this area look like a garden that you might find in the Far east. This part of the garden had become very overgrown in the 1960's and 70's and it took a lot of work to clear the undergrowth, and rebuild the gardens to make them look as they might have looked when they were first built.
Young Japanese Maples were planted to replace trees that had grown too old and a bridge and Japanese / style tea-house were built to help give the garden a more oriental feel.
Rare trees such as ginkgo, handkerchief tree, and table dogwood can be found between majestic eighty year old Rhododendrons.
