Grass Tree....

.... or Xanthorrhoea quadrangulata (Mount Lofty Grass-tree). They are just coming into flower in the Park right now. The drops held within each flower are not dew or rain drops, but nectar. It's an important food source for bees and many birds.

The flower spikes can reach up to a good 6-8 feet high. Quite a spectacular sight on a lovely winter's day like today. I thought it best to get my flower shot for the Camera School today while the sun was shining - it's forecast for rain at the weekend - again.

Has anyone worked out why it always rains at weekends, and stays sunny during the week? Is there a higher power which delights in messing up weekends?

I'll leave you with that thought.
