Kinneil Estate

Today my family took a drive to Kinneil Estate which is on a list I have made of potential places to go and blip.

Just as we arrived it started to drizzle but thankfully as we explored the vast grounds the weather cleared.
This picture is the remains of Kinneil Church which is on part of the estate. Here is a small section of what is says about the church:

Although no visible signs can now be seen, at the end of the seventeenth century there was a substantial village in the field to the south of the Church. Only the gravestones, which form the upper tier of the graveyard, record the lives of the villagers. Of the Church itself, once the spiritual centre of the community, only the western gable now remains, used as a sea-mark by ships entering Bo?ness Harbour. The upper part of the gable houses a double belfry and one of the original bells, dedicated to St Catherine, can be seen at the visitor centre in Kinneil Museum.

Oh and a BIG HaPpY BiRtDaY to blip!!!!
