Started the day by being locked out of the office, because I left my keys at home. Then N arrived. His keys were, at home. After a while S arrived. She doesn't have keys. Then N, early because we were interviewing at 10. Her keys were in my desk drawer. Next was C, up from Newcastle for the interviews. Well he never had our keys. S and C weren't answering their phones and N was still at home in Bonaly, having slept in. Eventually after 30 minutes with 5 of us outside, C and S arrived together, and we were in.

Another day interviewing, and an appointment. Single handedly I'm raising the average age of the organisation.

It was warm and muggy today. At 6 we went down to Serenity Cafe for the launch of the Mind exhibition, photographs and screen prints, images of Edinburgh. Serenity are offering a free Fringe programme. Go, it will be good.

I moved on to meet K at Brown's before a dance performance. After the lunchtime tragedy the Scotsman Hotel was shut and cordoned off with a number of emergency vehicles outside, including ones from the Scottish Government's Risk and Resilience Unit. Whatever is that?

After Brown's it was off to a dance performance. Energetic young people and an interesting clever and quirky programme.

George Street is being transformed into a semi bus free outdoor eating area. I hope the rain stays away.
