Curious Greenbottle

This greenbottle fly seems as curious in the workings of the macro lens attached to my Nikon D300s camera as I was in the iridescence that produces the gorgeous green glow that these maligned wee animals exhibit when they catch a beam of strong sunlight, as this one has while resting on my garden fence. In fact, this is made up of 25 photographs, each one taken a fraction of a millimetre closer than the previous. These pictures are then stacked in a computer to give greater sharpness than a single image would at this magnification.
