Final Showdown
Thanks to all of you for the very kind comments, stars and hearts for my kookaburra, helping my entry for 3 August to hit the Blipfoto Spotlight page.
When the 2 Adelaide AFL teams meet, the match is always called The Showdown. Today the Crows and Power stepped onto AAMI Stadium for the last Showdown at this ground.
For many years I have been following football at Football Park but we have got to move on. Next year it will be at the newly expanded and refurbished Adelaide Oval. Being in the centre of the city, and with brand new, state of the art facilities, it will be a lot better.
In my shot today you see a muscular Scotty Thompson of the Crows (red, gold and navy blue) about to gather the ball in front of The Power's Sam Calhoun, and on the top left you see Robbie Gray.
It is sad to tell you that my team, The Crows, lead for most of the day and with 5 minutes to go, still lead by 2 goals. However they lost the match in the final minutes, making a very sad ending for what was otherwise a great and historic day.
Closer up to the action.
