Yarn-bombed bridge! and a Blipmeet

Laurie and I had an adventure this morning when we bused to the streetcar and then rode the streetcar across the river to meet up with some wonderful Blippers and friends.

On the Broadway Bridge, celebrating 100 years this year, we saw the giant knitted afghans that have been installed on the bridge as part of the celebration. The display will be removed at the end of the festivities and converted into usable blankets for houseless people and a children's hospital. If you look large, you can see the knitted quality of the material.

At the Lovejoy Bakers in the Pearl district, we met up with Kendall, Susan (soozaday) and her husband Alan, Nora (nhc), and Susan's friends Marilyn (a soon-t0-be blipper who was even recruiting a stranger at the cafe!) and her husband Eric. After a lovely brunch, we wandered around a couple of nearby parks, chatting and snapping photos. More on Flickr.

What a great bunch of people we meet on Blip!
