Today I was at Putteridge Bury, the country house annexe of the University of Bedfordshire, for a training exercise. The building always reminds me of Chequers. Both buildings were designed by Lutyens.

It also reminds me a bit of the Guild building (Students' Union) at the University of Birmingham, home to my misspent youth - though that was not a Lutyens endeavour, rather it was designed by Holland W. Hobbiss.

Happy memories of Birmingham, and a good day at Putteridge Bury. Chequers I have yet to visit.
