something every day

Hard though it is to believe for a native of the city, this was David77's first trip along the Stockbridge-Murrayfield stretches of the Water of Leith. Unfortunately his lateness of arrival and hesitation in climbing the fence to avoid the water rising over the path beneath the footbridge at Dead meant that it was all rather rushed but it was as pleasant a day (and as quiet along the path) as it ever really gets at this time of year. Just as we returned to the unsheltered road the rain threatened by the extremely loud single thunderclap a few minutes earlier kicked in. David had his trusty manbrella but still wimped out and caught a bus. Luckily I had anticipated rain after Wednesday's lunch-deluge and had a spare T-shirt at work and sandals to replace my sodden trainers which meant I could thoroughly enjoy the downpour.
