Western End of the Menai Straits

This is the vista looking over the Queen's tower at Caernarfon castle. It is a perfect site, beautifully chosen by edward I, to enforce a blockade of the Menai straits with the help of Conwy and Beaumaris castles guarding the Eastern end.

This is also the most likely site of the Roman attack on the druidic fortress of Anglesey as they pushed for domination of the British Isles. The ruins of the Roman fort, Segontium are only a mile away
