Bristol Balloon Fiesta

A day in Bristol. I (Chris) got up early to catch the 6am mass flight, 106 balloons from above the iconic Clifton Suspension bridge. I was hoping for a great shot but the overcast clouds and wind direction meant the balloons were a little more distant than I had hoped for. It was fun however and quite social with a collection of other photographers hoping for the same.

Luckily Annie wasn't needed in work today, so a lazy morning followed that early balloon hunt, before we went on a hunt for Gromits. We met up with a good friend (and Gromit fan) before splitting as I returned to the Clifton viewpoint for a 6pm balloon flight whilst Annie continued the Gromit collecting.

After the mass flight, I went over to Ashton Gate, the launch base for the fiesta to see the Night Glow and fireworks. A long walk (and it rained) but a nice end to the day.

In case anyone is wondering, the EXIF data for this image isn't quite correct as it was taken on a 8mm fisheye lens!
