Fragile

I was, a bit, this morning. Still, a quick 20 lengths in the pool soon revived me, especially as the water temperature has dropped a couple of degrees since my last visit. Then I backblipped yesterday's exciting events..

There was yet another cultural event this evening, but it didn't sound very spectacular, so as insurance I went out for a walk this afternoon, and took some butterfly photos. As you can see, I was right about the lack of spectacle. In contrast to yesterday, this show consisted of one man whose props were rolls of bubblewrap, some parcel tape, and a few books and bits of paper.

It was described as "theatre" in the programme, but actually he just told us a long and strange story about his search for "the well-named river" (la rivière bien nommée). It was strangely compelling, despite the lack of action or drama. He had the teacher's knack of speaking quietly but clearly so that you were forced to listen carefully. There was a small and select audience, and you could have heard a pin drop. Even the children present were quiet, although the story can't have made much sense to them. A tranquil close to a hectic weekend. Hoping for a good night's sleep now!
