Le château de Suscinio

*Back blip* A nice day for a drive along to Le château de Suscinio near Sarzeau. Its been painstakingly restored (work in progress) after several centuries of decay. Fascinating exhibitions especially the junior archaeology one (shame my kids can't read enough French to understand it!).

After a lunch of galettes, crepes and cider we headed for the Butte de Cesar which is supposedly where Julius himself watched his fleet battle from in 56BC! It is a neolithic tumulus and we had an adventure coming down a little used path through the bracken.

Then on to Pen Castel which was a tidal mill on the sea shore. We finished up on the beach at Plage de Pont Blanc though the waves were too big to allow swimming.
