Developing

Top day of staff development that was.

Not that they're not always worthwhile and useful (OK, they're not), but instead of being all academic and that with us all shoved together in a classroom scratching our chins and debating and discussing and disagreeing and being Powerpointed at, around 30 or 40 of us had the opportunity to get out and about around the cycle paths around Falkirk and the near completed Helix Routes and on up the canal to the Falkirk Wheel.

It was good getting out in a group, led by the local council's cycling officer who shared some of his intimate local knowledge on the various parts of the Helix project, and, although it might not have been the fastest 11 miles or so, compared with what we might normally have had it was a unanimous hit.

It's created a bit of a buzz amongst everyone that took part too and hopefully that momentum will carry through and we'll soon have lots of happy and healthy staff out and about much more on two wheels.

Now, there's the little matter of some football match coming on the telly. Nothing much, just a friendly...
