It's wild..

..flowers.

Tanni's day today, after yesterday when we had to leave her in the house for most of the day. Drove up to Durness, and Balnakiel golf course. Specifically looking to see if there are any Scottish Primroses still flowering (there were a few..), but also loads of others, so thought this collage would be good.

Weather was very windy, so difficult to get decent shots. The majority were taken by lying down on the windward side, trying to shied the flowers from the wind. Frequent squally showers too..

The list:
Column 1. Yarrow, Heartease (pansy), White footed Tanni, Ragwort.
Column 2. Bedstraw, Scottish Primrose, Harebell.
Column 3. Grass of Parnassus, Hawkweed, Umbelifer, Saxifrage.
Column 4. Devils Bit Scabious, Eyebright, Knapweed.

I didn't take pics of the Daisies, Buttercups, Thistles, or Grasses, and the Orchids have gone over. There was another plant, with shoots like candle flames and edged in white, not open yet, and I don't know what that one is..

It's a beautiful place, and based on Torridean Sandstone, which gives it such a varied flora. The course is sympathetically mown, leaving large tracts of this flower meadow..

The Scottish Primrose is a very rare plant, I've only ever seen it here and the opposite headland. The same can be said for the Grass of Parnassus.
