Edinburgh Whisky Cruise - Preparations

The pouring of the first whisky of the evening - a 'Vat 69', bottled in the 70s. The blend originated in Edinburgh, and the theme continued in the other whiskies sampled as we made our way along the canal - a 'North British' grain, a 'Distillers Edition Glenkinchie' and an 'Auld Reekie'.

We were talking the trip to celebrate our friend's 50th birthday today, and had arranged for him to be presented with a personalised bottle of whisky, specially bottled for him today. He added his own icing to his birthday cake by producing another 'North British' to celebrate, this one very appropriately 50 years old and almost indescribably good. Slàinte Mhath.
