Fine

Bear's blanket makes a handy (and quite pretty) lampshade too, for when we only want a tiny bit of light just enough to not fall over the bed :) Slow blip day for me, can you tell?! Unlike Bean and Steve. They, and Bear, went off to Shoreham Fort this afternoon. For the first time. Good job there's holidays and such so we can take them again! Quite impressed with Bean's picture. Straight out of the camera. AND his horizon is actually horizontal - mine are rarely actually horizontal!! Loving Steve's picture too, makes me chuckle :D

So it's official, we leave Worthing on 8th September. Steve has a new job (hurrah!) in Castleford. But until we find somewhere permanent to live, we'll be staying with family and friends, rather than me and the boys kicking around on our own in an unfamiliar house in an unfamiliar town.

Been a difficult day again today. Not enough sleep for anyone, somehow. Everybody is tired, worn down, under the weather in some form or other. Easily grumping with each other, not so easy to find grace. God is still good though, even when we're not on the level: financial blessing via the tax man! So a trip to the bank and then a realisation that we'd never get dinner made for Jon and Amy if we all went to the fort, so I had the luxury of cooking for them without distraction :) while the boys did Boy Stuff and went to the fort. By the looks of things, Bean learnt to use Steve's DSLR and Bear chomped on the metal railings! They went to the park briefly while I finished getting the dinner to go ready, and then we all headed off to deliver our meal. Bean had another meltdown on the way home because we'd forgotten to get a drink of water from Rosie's house. I'll be grateful when these meltdowns subside again. I hope they do subside.

We've used a ridiculous number of eggs today, cooking toad in the hole, cheesecake, pancakes and my regular omlette. Must be over a dozen. Thank God they're not rationed any more.

Here's to an early night and hopefully a less grumpy day tomorrow.
