Sleeping rascals

It was the last day of their Scottish holiday so the boys had a full day to ensure they were tired enough to fall asleep as my daughter started the long drive back down south.

Firstly the dogs needed a walk and so we all went on my favourite walk onto the moor, the boys running along led by Bruce and Cara desperate to show off their playground. Having climbed and jumped on many of the large felled tree stumps they were ready to harvest the plentiful blaeberries and wild strawberries before they spied my dancing tree - which they loved. Led by the littlest who impishly pretended to sleep on the curved trunk, the other two piled on top so I just had to snap it and blip it! What fun I have had with them these past days.

After lunch we made our way to the stables and they all had rides on steeds of varying heights. The youngest was very apprehensive but his Mum just plonked his hat on and then similarly plonked him into the saddle before he had a chance to protest and - guess what? - he loved it and wanted to go back and back!!

Drinks and strawberry tartlets followed, washed down with a rain soaked play in the nearby playground and then home for tea, a bath and then into pyjamas ready to settle down for their long journey home. I think they were asleep by the time they left Crieff.
