OLD LANE MILL

Built in the 1820's and was a worsted mill. it is the oldest and largest surviving example of a multi-storey ,steam powered, iron framed textile mill and was part of the textile centre of Halifax it is the best preserved example for its date in Yorkshire.its design was fire proof ,the contents could burn and the roof may be lost but the building of cast iron and stone would survive .... clever those victorians !
