Vision 2014

The public meeting after the Cabinet in Hawick today was held in the main hall of Hawick High School.

Afterwards I met with a range of parents, pupis, staff, employers and others to talk about the many exciting things happening in the school and the town with a particular emphasis on vocational skills and employment.

We were guests of the Acting Head Teacher of Hawick High , Susan Oliver (who is on the right ) and she and Janice Chapman , HT of Burnfoot Community School ( on the left) were particularly fascinating about the amazing Vision 2014 project which has harnessed the enthusiasm of the entire community and which culminates , after four years hard work, on 22nd May next year, the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Hornshole, a key date in this proud town's history.
