The Late Tumults in Scotland

Plus ca change?

I visited Innerpeffray Library today, to see the new library space built partly to house a bequest they recently received, which includes a lot of Burns' related works. For those who don't know, Innerpeffray Library, about 4 miles outside Crieff, is the oldest public lending library in Scotland. Its a fascinating visit, not least because they're not too precious about the books and will take them out to show you and allow you to handle them (with white gloves on of course!)

Needless to say there are a lot of really interesting books, too many to list. This afternoon I was amused by the title of this one. I rather felt that a book of this title could easily have been written at almost any point in our history! Pesky Scots :-)

By the way, the King authoring this one was Charles 1. We were being revolting at the time!
