eat the aphids!

This morning we removed Phragmites australis (a very aggresive invasive; it will force out native marsh plants and alter the soil. hard to control, as pulling it makes it grow back more aggressively. bad stuff) using the clip and drip method. What's that, you might ask? One person snips the stalks and the other drips in Rodeo, the wetland version of Roundup (a glyphosate herbicide). Dripping it into the stem ensures the death of the plant and means it shouldn't affect the neighboring desirable plants like a spray would.

At the end of the day, we released 150 ladybugs into the greenhouse (the one that's only 100 square feet) to control our aphid problem. Yeah, you can totally buy ladybugs from the internet.
