Birnam Hill Sunset

What a nice day. Too nice to be stuck in the office. Must get out after work.

Drove the 20 minutes up to a little car park from where Birnam Hill can be ascended. A 30 minute walk (some of it steep) sees you at the top with reasonably unobstructed views of Perthshire. It was 8.15pm when I reached the top and I decided to hang about for sunset, which meant waiting for another hour in a cold wind.

As it turned out, it was worth it. The sun as it went down was squeezed between a layer of cloud and the land (not literally of course...) and I came away with this fantastic image.

By the way, the peak to the left with the mist shrouded summit is Schiehallion.
